Firewood in Nangana
Nangana has 54 residents, no town centre and almost nothing but farmland. Firewood here is delivered to a property, not a street.

No town, all farmland
Nangana is a rural locality north-east of Cockatoo, with 54 residents at the 2021 census and no town centre. It had a post office of its own from 1902, and the last one closed in 1964. On the planning maps almost all of it is Green Wedge.
A firewood delivery here is to a farm, so give the supplier clear directions and say where on the property the load should go. Wood kept in an open-sided shed or under a cover with air moving through it dries best; EPA Victoria's advice is at least 8 months before burning.

Part under the bushfire overlay
The Bushfire Management Overlay covers about two fifths of Nangana, far less than in Cockatoo or Gembrook. CFA's woodpile advice holds whether or not a property is under it: at least 10 m from the house, and never a summer stack against the walls.

Cardinia's rules
Nangana is in Cardinia Shire, which allows burning only to reduce bushfire fuel. Native wood cut from private land generally needs a council permit, according to the Conservation Regulator. There are no collection areas in the shire; the collecting guide lists where they are.
